Week 3: Video in the ELT Classroom (Youtube)

YouTube is a free video sharing website that lets people upload, view, and share videos. You can subscribe to channels, upload videos like and dislike them and comment them. This website is really useful for teachers that need to find videos for their students. It can be found something as simple as a nice color song to teach  pre-school children or a video about the second conditional to add additional material to our classes.  There may be some limitations when it comes to work with students on class, and since they are easily distracted, they tend to visit other videos or pages that are not related to the class, therefore the teacher must be monitoring all the time.

Week 2: Blog

A useful technological tool to make students participate in their classes is the blog. The Blog is a web page that can be used as a journal or a diary and teachers can work with it since, blogs are an ideal resource for the teaching of writing because they: are easy to create and maintain; encourage students to be more prolific writers; make writing easier to share; support group work, feedback, and collaboration; provide opportunities to write outside of class; can link to related texts and multimedia; provide students with a sense of authorship; and can be used in various ways by the instructor Blogs are easy to use, they can be updated anytime and their users do not need to have a vast knowledge about programs and computers to design and maintain it. Week 1: 4 Cs of 21st Century

What are the 4 Cs of  21st century? The 4 Cs are those skills that have been identified by teachers, educators and even politicians. These four skills are the most  required for education: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity. Students should be able to manage them in order to be successful in their jobs and lives, therefore, education must be adapted to fulfill students' needs.
